Hatti Gousamsthana Trust is a haven for indigenous cow breeds, nestled amidst the serene landscapes of Malenadu. We specialize in nurturing and breeding Malenadu Gidda and Amruth Mahal cows, two prized native Karnataka breeds renowned for their unique qualities.
Our district of Shivamogga is home to a thriving population of these cows, each breed possessing distinct characteristics. Malenadu Gidda cows are celebrated for their exceptional milk quality, while Amruth Mahal cows are admired for their strength, durability, and auspicious nature.
Beyond their nutritional value, the cows’ waste products hold significant medicinal and agricultural benefits. Malenadu Gidda cow dung and urine are rich in essential bacteria that promote soil health and agricultural productivity. The cow’s urine, or Gowmuthra, is also valued for its therapeutic properties for both humans and animals.
We have been operating our Goshala (cow shelter) for several years, caring for a herd of over 70 cows, calves, and bulls of these indigenous breeds. Malenadu Gidda and Amruth Mahal cows are particularly adaptable to our local conditions, requiring minimal veterinary care and supplements.
